The Pacific Northwest, also known as Cascadia, is known for being a scenic, vibrant, enjoyable and outdoor-centric area. Comprised of Oregon, Idaho, and Washington, it borders British Columbia. Seattle, referred to as the Emerald City for how much green space there is, sits well north in Washington, with access throughout the state and to neighboring states by freeway, train, plane, or water. Year round there are plentiful outdoor water and land-based activities, including paddling, sailing, whale watching, hiking, and biking to name just a few. A short trip outside of the city will bring you to the snow, making it easy to ski or snowboard through the cold season.

Seattle is lauded as the home of Pike Place Market, where the original Starbucks is still located. Just a few minutes from there, the Space Needle offers a chance to reach new heights or you can learn about rock and roll history at the Museum of Pop Culture. The city is also full of galleries for the art lover, including special exhibitions at the Chihuly Gardens and the waterfront Olympic Sculpture Park. And if all of this is not enough, Seattle is also one of the first cities where the brewery scene took off, and the possibilities are endless for finding something delicious to drink.
